WE NEED YOU TO BECOME A BOARD MEMBER

Time commitment:
· one meeting per month – 2nd Wednesday from 6:15 – 7:30
· 2-3 hours per month (sometimes less)

Type of involvement:
· Work with others on fun projects to help raise funds for the library
· Help with annual book sale
· Help with annual party

Annual Book Sale

The Friends of HTFL will host their Annual Book and Bake Sale Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th.

Join the Friends in the Community Room Saturday, September 27th from 10am-5pm. Most books range from $.50-$2.00.

Sunday, Stepember 28th is BARGAIN DAY from 1-5pm, $6.00 a bag!

Friends Members ONLY are invited to a preview sale on Friday, September 26th from 6-9pm. Join at the door if you aren't already a member!

All proceeds fund specific library initiatives and collections that benefit YOU!

Cookbook

Ladies and Gentlemen of All Ages: Please Contribute 3 or 4 of Your Best Recipes to the Friends' of the Haverford Township Free Library Cookbook.

We are preparing a taste-tempting cookbook featuring recipes from members of our community.

All proceeds from our cookbook sales will be donated to the Haverford Township Free Library.

Contributing your best & favorite recipes will ensure that our cookbook will be a success!

We also need volunteers to test the recipes! This will ensure that the ingredients and idrections are correct and easy to follow. It will be fun to get together and taste test the recipes. Our cookbook will be professionally printed, illustrated and bound, and is sure to be treasured for years!

New Benefits

The Friends' are going to start offering 2 new benefits to members (of the Friends). BOTH benefits are yearly and the member MUST show a valid membership card (must have a card AND it must be for the current year). Membership runs from whenever you join to the same date and month of the following year, for example, 4/10/2008 - 4/10/2009, and after 4/10/2009 it is no longer valid.

Benefits:

5 free dvd rentals throughout the year UP TO 5 when you present your card

A one time (per year) forgiveness of fines UP TO $10 - if you use it for $3 THAT's IT

FRIENDS' CONSIGNMENT SHOP

The Friends' area at the library has changed. Stop by and see it. In addition to information about our Business Supporters and Donors and upcoming events, we now have two display cases and are selling Hand Crafted Items & Attic Treasures. Most of the items for sale are on consignment but many of them are donated. The Library Staff at the main desk will help you with your purchases. This is a fundraiser and all of our proceeds go to the Library.
